Within the ECOserve Programme 542 ha of arable land and 100 ha of pastures have been improved
Within the frames of sustainable pasture management and food security component of the ECOserve Programme, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, 542 ha of arable land and 100 ha of pastures have been improved.
Arable lands that had not been cultivated for years have been improved using food and fodder crops in Sisian community of Syunik marz and in the Yeghegis community of Vayots Dzor marz. As a result, the farmers in the communities could earn additional income in the form of grain and fodder.
The measure aligns with several strategies and programmes adopted by the RA Government, such as the Food Security Strategy, Horticulture Support Programme, and Climate Adaptation Action measures in agricultural sector.
Improving pastures and arable lands enhances biodiversity conservation, soil health, and environmental protection, simultaneously bolstering food security and income opportunities.
