German expert: Europe will not agree to surrender sovereign territories of Armenia

German political scientist Alexander Rahr thinks that Europe will not agree to surrender the sovereign territories of Armenia. He made this statement during a conversation with NEWS.am.
Rahr added that it is possible for the parties involved in the issue of unblocking transport communications to agree on using a transit mechanism similar to the one in place for Kaliningrad through Europe, though it would require further negotiations.
He also believes that Baku is unlikely to initiate a war with Armenia. Rahr explained that several years ago, the world community prioritized not only the principle of territorial integrity but also the right of peoples to self-determination, which was advantageous for Armenia. However, the situation changed in favor of Azerbaijan after the outbreak of the Ukrainian war.
Rahr acknowledges that the situation in the Caucasus region has not yet stabilized and that negotiations are being conducted to find compromises. Both Armenia and Azerbaijan will engage in negotiations and bargaining, given the significant geopolitical changes in the region.
